Future Female Leaders creates practical learning experiences that help women take the next step in their education, careers, and leadership journeys.
Through workshops, application support, leadership development, and emerging technology, we bring women together to learn from experienced leaders, build meaningful connections, and turn ambition into action.
WHY WE EXIST
Future Female Leaders grew from a simple observation: women are often ready for the next step, but may lack access to the information, networks, encouragement, or role models that can help them take it.
The initiative began in Boston with an Application Bootcamp supporting women considering the Harvard Kennedy School Mid-Career MPA. What started as one program developed into a broader platform for learning, connection, and leadership development.
Today, Future Female Leaders brings together women from different countries, sectors, and stages of their careers through practical programs designed to help them move forward.
Founded by Patrycja Horodyska
Patrycja Horodyska is a Harvard Kennedy School Mid-Career MPA graduate, leadership educator, and international professional with experience spanning public service, business, education, and development.
Her connection with Harvard Kennedy School began in 2008 and has continued through Executive Education, the Public Leadership Credential, and the Mid-Career Master in Public Administration. She has also served on the board of the HKS Women’s Alumni Network and has long been committed to encouraging more women to pursue leadership education and opportunities.
While at Harvard, Patrycja conducted quantitative and qualitative research examining the persistently low participation of women in the Mid-Career MPA program. The research led to a bigger question: what can alumni do to help change it?
Rather than stopping at research, she decided to put the findings into practice. Together with an extraordinary community of women, she began creating initiatives that provide information, mentorship, practical support, and connections to women considering their next educational and leadership opportunities.
Future Female Leaders grew from that work and from a belief that when women have better access to knowledge, networks, mentorship, and opportunity, more of them can step forward and lead.
